Screens in Childhood: effects on sleep, learning and attention. Principles for healthy uses

The article focuses on the most important topics within the issue of healthy usage of technology in children: 1. blue light and its impact on childhoodsleep, 2. the use of screens to accelerate cognitive development, and 3. the early screen exposure and later development of ADD/ADHD. With regardto the critical milestones of cognitive development, we discuss the most risky group, i.e. children aged 0 to 6 years. The text summarizes the mainfindings from current foreign and domestic research, and is accompanied by the basic guidelines of technology use in toddlers and preschool children.

Isolated sleep paralysis occurs in up to 7,6 % of general population, which makes it to be a common sleep disorder. Patients with Parkinson´s disease (PN), a common neurodegenerative disorder, suffer not only from movement disorder, but also from mental disorders including behavioral disorders and psychosis. These disorders are closely related to dopaminergic treatment of PN. Despite knowledge of the clinical features of these disorders, many patients may not be diagnosed in time.
