ADHD is a relatively new diagnostic unit which however describes a well-known symptomatology. ADHD is a genetically determined
neurodevelopmental disorder and its core symptoms (inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity) change slightly during the life-course.
The disorder begins in childhood and usually continues through adolescence into adulthood. Each developmental period possesses its
own diagnostic and therapeutic particularities.
