Effective treatment of psychotic disease in acute stage

The paper presents a case report of a positive effect of paliperidone with prolonged action (9-hydroxyrisperidone) on acute symptoms

of psychotic disease. It also deals with the occurrence of adverse effects of the drug. Possible reasons for using paliperidone in clinical

practice are discussed.
